Neighborhood Revitalization

August 19th City of Edmonton Open House

o Date: Tuesday August 19
o Time: 6 to 8:30pm
o Location: Hawks Nest Room at RE/MAX Field

Please consider attending the open house to learn about potential impacts on the neighborhood having new, additional sidewalks:

o The cost to residents
o Reduced parking on avenues, increased traffic circling the neighborhood to find parking,
o Narrower avenues
o New interesection options at 97 Ave and 101 Street
o Potential bike lane at 97 Ave and 101 Street
o Option to close 102 Street near Ortona Armoury (so more traffic on 101 Street), and
o other aspects of the project.

These considerations are on top of the fact that Rossdale’s existing parking permit program is to be reviewed by the City starting in 2026 and it may change.

The Community League is waiting for information from EPCOR on the status of the current sewers and when if anything is planned for maintenance/upgrades (it seems there is nothing being considered in this regard at this time-so just need to better understand this) . In additon, the executive is waiting for information about repainting of the decorative streetlights that are faded. The concepts of the revitalization can be found at the link below and there is an online survey as well:

Yoga in Rossdale

Yoga in Rossdale is back for the fall session at the Little Flower School House with Patty and Vera. This is a mixed yoga class and does not lean too far into any one type. The sessions this year begin on Monday September 8 and run until Monday December 8th for a total of 12 classes: from 6:30 - 7:45pm. There will be no classes on October 13 for Thanksgiving and October 20 for the civic election. The cost will be $180 for the 12 classes and $90 for six. Class size will be limited to 15 people and registration is only for Rossdale residents. If you are interested, please email Jane Squire Howden at jhowden@telus.net. The first 15 residents to register and complete the direct deposit will be accepted.
